Mission High School, Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh.
The present prestigious mission high school has its humble beginning for the Glory of God as the Narsapur School in 1826 by the prayers and tears of pioneer missionaries Mr. George Beer and William Bowden to impart education to the poor and downtrodden and above all to preach the Gospel to the young children in and around Narsapur. This is one of the oldest schools in the State of Andhra Pradesh. From its humble beginnings as a small elementary school, the Mission High School has grown to become the biggest high school in Narsapur. The school received its high school status under the leadership of Archie Naismith, who also created the school emblem “Bear the cross, wear the crown”. In 1905 the Narsapur School was raised to a Higher Elementary school. Later the school was converted into Middle school. And in 1922, Mr. A. Naismith took over the charge as Headmaster and Correspondent. In 1942, Mr. A. Naismith shifted the school from old building to the newly constructed tiled building at Roypeta.
The school has progressed year by year by God’s Grace and considered as one of the biggest schools in the district with a vast playground for its physical activities of sports and games.
At present, the school strength is 487 and is likely to improve within one month. Mrs. K. Neeraja is the present Headmistress of the Mission High School.
