Activity 2018-2019

The main activities of the Association continued strictly in accordance with the main goals and objectives as stated in the Memorandum of Association i.e.

  • Promotion of Secular and Religious education.
  • Medical work on philanthropic lines.
  • Relief to the Poor and Needy.
  • Promotion of the welfare of mankind on sound Christian principles without distinction based on caste, creed, race or religion.

The overall disbursement was Rs. 384.60 Lakhs compared to Rs. 372.49 Lakhs, previous Financial Year. This was 86.3% of the total inflow of Rs. 445.74 Lakhs, during current Financial Year. We were able to concentrate more on providing places for gathering to our fellow brethren and aiding assistance to the Poor and Needy believers amongst us, especially the ones affected by the Natural Calamities in different parts of India during the year. Hence the total disbursement tripled in Relief to the Poor during current Financial Year. An amount of 2.04 Crores ( Rs. 203.98 Lakhs ) Administration and Other expenses combined dropped to 6.71% of the total spend during the year from 7.29% previous year, even though the Inflow of Funds increased by 45 Lakhs (11.1%) compared to previous Financial Year.

Education
The main beneficiaries of this disbursement are, Garden Hills Public School, Mankulam, Noel Memorial School, Gujarat Brethren Bible Institute North India Bible Institute, Alwar, Brethren Bible Institute, Pathanamthitta etc..

Medical
Those institutions assisted are Agape Mental Health Research Institute, Pathanamthitta, Women’s Hospital, Ambajipeta, Bethesda Leprosy Hospital, Narsapur, Dr. Leeser Eye Care Centre, Palliative Care Centre, Kollam, Sankeshwar Mission Hospital, and General medical assistance for the sick.

Relief to the poor
Good News Fellowship, Poor brethren, Shalom Children’s home, Care of Widows, Natural Disaster victims, Poor people, Care of Orphans, Malavalli Boys Home, SAI Welfare work, Holland Wharf Girls Hostel, Khanapur Girls Home, Hebron Hostel etc fall under this category.

Construction
Roofing grants and other assistance given to Assemblies and institutions for construction fall under this category.

Others
Audit fees, education, legal, repairs, maintenance, depreciation etc. falls under this category.

Administration
The amount appearing under this item is towards the Expenditure account as well as other matters.

INCOME TAX MATTERS
The Tax Returns for the year ended 31 March 2019 (A.Y. 2019-2020) were filed in time.

STATUTORY FILING OF RETURNS WITH REG. OF SOCIETIES
The Annual returns for the year ended 31 March 2019 were filed within the stipulated time.

THE YEAR 2018-2019
The current Financial Year was better in regard to the inflow and disbursement of funds but the uncertainties and difficulties in the management of charities especially for the receipt of F.C funds, still prevails

2018 – 19 AUDITED ACCOUNTS
Balance Sheet, Income & Expenditure Account as well as Receipts and Payments along with the Audit Report has been presented approved for the year ended 31.3.2019.

Auditors
M/s Thomas (V.M.) & Co., Chennai, Chartered Accountants, Chennai be appointed as Auditors of the Association for the year 2019 – 2020.
