Dear Fellow brethren in Christ,

Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ.

At the very outset, I, Raju M.Koshy, the new General Secretary of the Stewards Association In India, wish you all , my dear coworkers in the blessed work of our mighty God a wonderful, peaceful and blessed NEW YEAR.

I was working in a senior management levelwith the Tax Department of Govt. of India and superannuated after 37 years of service. My parents had been teachers and hence provided me an adequate environment for studies. Thereby, by the grace of God, I could complete my Post Graduation in Statistics and a Masters in Law. Later on, I was granted the privilege to get a Masters degree in Theology as well. It is for the glory of God I wish to state that my blessed Lord elevated me far above my colleagues and bestowed me with honours like Commendation Certificates from the Finance Minister of India and Presidential Award for Distinguished Service of Records from the President of India while I served the Indian Government . Being a Lawyer by profession, I joined the High Court of Kerala after superannuation from Govt. service and had been practicing Law, specializing in the field of Human Rights.

However, when I received the call of God in all its clarity and the same was fully confirmed, I left my profession and attained boldness to obey my Lord to undertake this challenging job in the Stewards Association in India. For the awareness sake, I would like to present the Organisation Stewards Association in India ( SAI ).

SAI was registered as a Religious and Charitable Society in the year 1954. The primary function of SAI in the initial days were to take over the Mission properties comprising of the the Assembly halls, Institutions such as Schools, Hospitals, Orphanages, Boys Homes, Girls Homes etc. either from the Missionaries or from Stewards Company Ltd., Bath, U.K. Thereafter, every year on an average fifty to seventy properties are added and the same are being acquired and registered in the name of SAI. Today we are looking after more than 1600 properties in various parts of India.

The services rendered by SAI are, inter alia, the following:
There are litigations and court cases in many places with respect to our Assembly properties. While we have problems with outside people in this connection, it is sad to state that we have court cases between our own brothers with respect to these properties. In this connection, it is my desire to bring our brothers to a mediation / negotiation table so that in all these cases pertaining to believers can be settled and closed. For achieving this goal, I request all the like minded brethren to stand with us prayerfully and unitedly. There are many places in India where there are no Halls to gather on a Sunday morning to worship the Lord together even though many people who have come to the Lord by His saving grace are there to gather. It is also a reality that in some places the Lord’s children are not able to gather and worship together even though we have spacious Assembly Halls built on the sacrificial giving of Lord’s people. As you may be aware, in many parts of India, gathering for worship in homes of believers are declared as illegal and hence the building of Assembly Halls in all these places are becoming need based and a sheer necessity. Many of our School buildings, especially the Noel Memorial Schools ( 18 Nos. ) situated in the Central Travancore area of Kerala State, are over 100 years old. Many of them the top thached portions have decayed and need replacements. All these School buildings need renovations and maintenance. This work have to be started on a war footing as these buidings will not be getting the Fitness Certificate from the Govt. A large sum of funds are needed for this. I am sure that the Lord will provide through His people who are getting awareness about this need. There are so many other fronts where there are acute need and we should extend our service to the less fortunate believers and evangelists who are in need in different states in India. I think I have atleast touched the tip of the iceberg to create an awareness in to the many fold needs of the Assemblies and brethren of this country. I believe that our blessed Lord has given SAI the otherwise impossible task of filling the vacuum in addressing not only physical and material needs but also spiritual needs of the lesser privilaged fellow brethren in India. If so, that mighty goal can be achieved only by the generous gifts of the believers who are placed in developed countries and have been blessed with better financial resources. One thing I can assure you is that your sacrificial giving will be reaching these brethren or for what ever cause you like to disburse the funds, the same will be undertaken with utmost care and transparency. If you have a spiritual burden to bless these people with the word of God in your next visit to India, we can arrange a provision for ministry according to availability and time. Let me assure you that we will do everything possible, trusting the Lord, to serve the Assemblies and our brethren in various parts of India. I believe that the call I received is to do service to God’s people who share our faith. Our sole aim is to facilitate to the needs of our Assemblies in general and to our people in particular. I am sure that our blessed Lord will equip and empower us in this mighty task for the extension of His Kingdom.

Let our heavenly Father bless you abundantly in this new year and let us all wholeheartedly pray and ceaselessly work and continue to be the salt and light of this world. Let me conclude this message with a fervent request to all of you to pray for us and for the Stewards Association in India to work hard for the fulfilment of the otherwise impossible task so that Lord’s will and purposes may be accomplished in the days to come. Thank you for the interest and time you have given to know about the objectives and goals of SAI. Let our blessed Lord grant you wisdom to invest in His kingdom and receive rewards from the Master.

Your fellow servant in His royal Service,

Raju M.Koshy
General Secretary,
Stewards Association in India.
